When you look at your bank account do you feel a ROLLER COASTER of emotion? Does it resemble something like this?
Payday: Happiness abounds! MONEY MONEY MONEY!!! Look at all I can do!! Let’s buy all the things!! Unicorn…who doesn’t want one? Boom. Done.
Half way through the month: Regret replaces happiness. Crap…Maybe the unicorn was a bad idea, do you think they accept returns? Deep breath…there is still money for bills and groceries. I just need to budget for the next two weeks…I got this.
A few days before payday: Denial and fear knock at the door. I can’t believe there is no money, where did it go? Who knew unicorns were a bad purchase? I am obviously not successful if I can’t make it through one month and still have money in my bank account. I can’t let anyone know….no one else lives like this.
Or maybe you don’t even know your financial situation and where it stands. Maybe you have let someone else take care of it for you, like your spouse or significant other or even your parents...
I can help you. I want to help you. No, I won’t buy your unicorn from you but I can help you take control of you finances and shift your perspective about money.
I am Caval Olson-Lepage, creator of Conscious Beyond Wealth. I am a Certified Financial Planner and Registered Retirement Consultant. I have worked in the financial services industry for over 10 years. I created this website because everyone always asks me the same question……how much money do I need? This question is often followed with “Compared to your other clients/situations you encounter…how am I doing…Do I have enough money?" We are constantly comparing bank accounts, houses, cars and vacations to everyone else as a way to measure our own wealth and success. However, when you place yourself in competition with everyone else you are fighting a losing battle. So how do we shift our perspectives and write our own “wealth” story?
I created Conscious Beyond Wealth to shift your perspective about wealth. I want you to ask yourself “what kind of life do I want to live?” before you think about how much money you need. I want to make your discussions about money positive not negative, especially with your partner. I want to show you that we all have different money personalities and that emotional spending is as real as emotional eating. Trust me when I say that eBay is a cupcake in disguise.
I want to change our definition of success to be about more then the monetary amount in our bank accounts. I want to help you create your own personal successful wealth story. I want to help you have a healthy relationship with money.
So why should you listen me?
Well as I said above I have worked in the financial services industry for over 10 years (and I still do). Did I mention I also have a fancy title; Certified Financial Planner and Registered Retirement Consultant. I became a financial planner because I love helping people realize that their “dream lifestyle” is attainable. I love being able to show people how changing your perspective of your goal from being purely monetary makes it more achievable. Nothing brightens my day more than when a client realizes their true goals and is excited to make them happen.
More importantly, I have been there. I have had despair over large debt balances. I have viewed it as the unending climb out of a dark well. I have looked at my “small account balance” at the end of the month and thought…. “when will it get better? I should have more money than this.” I have had (and let’s be honest still do) arguments about money with my husband. I have compared myself to the friends who go on vacation to fancy destinations each year. I have been there, I still go through it. I understand, I get it. I can help.
Are you ready to redefine your relationship with money and wealth?
Let’s write your story…
